What is the Hague Service Convention?
The Hague Service Convention, formally known as the Convention of 15 November 1965 on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters, is an international treaty that provides a standardized and efficient process for serving legal documents across international borders.
It establishes procedures for ensuring that documents from one member country can be transmitted to individuals or entities in another member country in a manner consistent with due process and legal requirements.
The Convention aims to simplify and expedite the process of serving documents in civil or commercial cases between countries that are party to the agreement.
